Happy color.

i love the bold, tuscan colors of these decor accents. so charming. that light fixture...to die for! one day, i'll have that hanging in my kitchen! and is there anything more simple than placing a single bloom in a vintage glass? sweet, home decor yumminess!

Bottle Shock.

i found myself unable to get much sleep last night. so, i decided to watch bottle shock for the first time. given my amore for great wine, i'm surprised i hadn't viewed this film earlier. loved it!
the cinematography in this film is beautiful. i especially loved the view from the above shot: those rolling valleys; the swaying wheat colored grasses; and the lighting...fantastic. go nature!! i will be visiting napa valley for the big "40" and can't wait to have a picnic on a vineyard with my sweetie. i will bask in the sweet nectars of the vine and, possibly steal a few kisses (hehehe). perhaps i'll even get to crush some grapes! that will be a very good day.

Layered bliss.

i love the simplicity of these layered looks. and how charming are those dresses for little ones? perfect for frolicking in wildflower meadows. sweet fashions by ewaiwalla and ingedejonge.

Sunny days + campy fashions.
i adore these images of this shed. don't you just love those curtains? such a charming place to idle away summer afternoons, lost in a lovely read; or spending time getting to know your creative spirit. thank you artemis for sharing this bit of cottage charm with all of us. you can visit her blog, tales of a junkaholic, and read about her happenings across the pond.

speaking of summer afternoons, i came across a lovely little shop while blog surfing today. tumbleweed is the blog and features the wonderful designs of kara larson. her dresses are flirty, feminine, and so romantic. i love the vintage simplicity in her designs. if you're anything like me, and drool over all things vintage, i encourage you to stop by her shop and take a peeksy.

Summer Morn In New Hampshire.
all yesterday it poured, and all night long
i could not sleep; the rain unceasing beat
upon the shingled roof like a weird song,
upon the grass like running children's feet.
and down the mountains by the dark cloud kissed,
like a strange shape in filmy veiling dressed,
slid slowly, silently, the wraith-like mist,
and nestled soft against the earth's wet breast.
but lo, there was a miracle at dawn!
the still air stirred at touch of the faint breeze,
the sun a sheet of gold bequeathed the lawn,
the songsters twittered in the rustling trees.
and all things were transfigured in the day,
but me whom radiant beauty could not move;
for you, more wonderful, were far away,
and I was blind with hunger for your love.
